General Memberships
Membership Types
Listed below are the various memberships available at SoCal Pescadores Fishing Club. Due to insurance requirements for each member, we do not offer free memberships. Our memberships run on calendar year (Jan 1 to Dec 31).
To join please make to use our online membership application. It also includes our Release of Liability that must also be completed.
Individual Adult Membership - Men
This membership is open to any individual that is 18 to 64 years of age on the date you sign your membership application. This membership has full membership privileges except in our boat membership program. The membership fee is $36 per calendar year.
Spouse Adult Membership (non-fishing)
This membership is available to the spouse of a member with a current Individual Adult Membership. This membership is for a spouse that would like to participate in our social (non-fishing) activities and events. Due to insurance restrictions, this membership type has no fishing privileges on any of our charters or events. The membership fee is $12 per calendar year.
Individual Adult Membership (Lady Anglerette)
This membership is open to any individual that is 18 to 64 years of age on the date you sign your membership application. This membership has full membership privileges except in our boat membership program. The membership fee is $36 per calendar year. This membership also includes membership in our Lady Anglerette's program.
Junior Membership
This membership is open to any junior angler that is between 5 and 17 years of age on the date you sign your membership application. If you become 18 years of age during the membership year (Jan. 1 to Dec 31), then you will need to upgrade your membership when you become 18 to maintain your membership. This membership has full membership privileges except in our boat membership program. The membership fee is $12 per calendar year.
Adult Senior Membership
This membership is open to any individual that is 65 years of age and older on the date you sign your membership application. This membership has full membership privileges except in our boat membership program. The membership fee is $24 per calendar year.
Active Military Membership
This membership is open to any individual that is on "Active Duty" status and is between 18 to 64 years of age on the date you sign your membership application. This membership has full membership privileges except in our boat membership program. The membership fee is $12 per calendar year. You must submit proof of active duty status at time of applying for membership.
Boat Membership
Fractional Share Boating Membership
Like a lot us, we love to fish and go as often as we can. We would love to own a boat for fishing, but boat ownership has both its advantages and disadvantages.
So as our membership grows we want to be able to offer our members Fractional Share Boat Memberships. So what does this entail?
With fractional boat membership, SoCal Pescadores owns the boat and then offers its members memberships for usage time on the boat.
How Can I Participate? If your membership with SoCal Pescadores is active and in good standing, you may be able to apply for a Fractional Share Boating Membership. There are certain requirements for membership. They include an additional membership fee, safe boating class, insurance, drivers license and infractions check.
How Much Does It Cost? At this time its too early to come up with a membership fee. We first need to determine the type and size of the boat, how many fractional memberships will be allowed per boat, plus maintenance fees. What we can tell you at this time is that it will involve an upfront initiation fee, plus a monthly fee.
What Boats Will Be Available? We are currently meeting with Sea Fox Boats as they offer affordable fishing boats with a full set of features. We hope to be able to purchase both a Sea Fox 186 Commander and the Sea Fox 206 Commander. As more members show interest in in our Fractional Boat Membership, we can purchase additional boats. It sure would be nice to have a fleet of boats from 18' for bay/inshore fishing to the 20' and 22' models for running to the Coronado Islands for Yellowtail or the 9 mile bank for some tuna and rockfish.
